How long brow lamination lasts and how to make yours reach 8 weeks

Brow lamination lasts between 6 and 8 weeks, the time it takes your brow hairs to renew. How long brow lamination lasts on you depends on your hair, your aftercare in the first 24 hours and your skincare routine. At Migami, in Andorra la Vella, the appointment takes 60 minutes.

Key points
  • The brushed-up, tidy look holds for 6 to 8 weeks.
  • Keeping water, steam, make-up and creams off your brows for the first 24 hours sets the shape.
  • The sensible gap is 6 to 8 weeks, once new hairs have replaced the treated ones.
  • At Migami it costs €49.90 and includes shaping, hair removal and tint in a 60-minute appointment.

How long does brow lamination really last?

Well-done brow lamination lasts between 6 and 8 weeks. The hair itself sets that figure: each brow hair grows, rests and sheds over a cycle of several weeks, and your brows hold hairs at different stages at the same time.

Lamination changes the direction of the hairs you have on the day of your appointment. The ones that grow afterwards come through in their natural direction. That is why the effect fades gradually, with no single day when your brows suddenly drop.

How brow lamination changes week by week
WhenWhat you notice
First 24 hoursHairs brushed well upwards; the shape is still setting
Weeks 1 to 4Full effect: fuller, neater brows, with colour if you had the tint
Weeks 5 and 6New hairs appear in their usual direction; the tint fades
Weeks 7 and 8Brows are almost back to their natural shape; a good time to redo it

What makes brow lamination last longer or shorter

Three things decide whether you reach week 8 or stop at week 5: your hair type, your aftercare on the first day and what you put on your face every day. These are the most common factors.

  • Thick, unruly hair: takes the change of direction well, though it tends to drift back sooner if you don't brush it.
  • Fine hair: picks up the shape easily and keeps it, but needs gentle lotions and short processing times.
  • Oily skin: sebum softens the shape and fades the tint sooner.
  • Exfoliants, retinol and acids: used over the brows, they shorten the effect and dry the hair out.
  • Daily sauna, steam or chlorinated pools: wear down shape and colour faster.

How long each lotion stays on should match the thickness of the hair: fine hair doesn't need the same minutes as thick hair, and that explains much of the difference between lamination that lasts and lamination that drops after three weeks. Tell us about your brows when you book and we'll take it into account.

Brow lamination aftercare for the first 24 hours

For the first 24 hours your brows need to stay dry and untouched. That is the time the hair needs to settle into its new direction.

  1. Don't get your brows wet: clean your face with a damp wipe, avoiding the area.
  2. Avoid saunas, steam, intense exercise and very hot showers.
  3. Don't put make-up or creams on your brows.
  4. Don't sleep face down against the pillow.
  5. Don't rub or touch your brows with your fingers.

After that first day the routine is short: brush your brows upwards every morning with a clean spoolie and apply a nourishing oil (castor oil, for example) at night. Treated hair benefits from the moisture and holds its shape for more weeks.

Book your brow lamination at Av. Meritxell 9: 60 minutes with shaping, hair removal and tint, €49.90.

How often should you get brow lamination?

Brow lamination is repeated every 6 to 8 weeks, once most of the treated hair has shed. Redoing it sooner means applying lotions to hair that hasn't yet recovered from the previous treatment.

If you notice dry or brittle hair at the end of a cycle, skip one round of lamination and keep your brows in shape with good eyebrow shaping and hair removal. The 18-day infill rate doesn't apply to lamination: each session is charged in full, as you can see on the Migami prices page.

What the appointment includes and how much it costs in Andorra

Brow lamination costs €49.90 at Migami and includes shaping, hair removal and tint in a single 60-minute appointment, at Av. Meritxell 9, Andorra la Vella.

We start by mapping the shape that best suits your features. Then we apply the lotions that change the direction of the hair, remove the hairs outside the design with thread or tweezers, and finish with the tint, which visually fills any gaps. If you'd like to see the treatment step by step, it's all on the brow lamination in Andorra page.

If you'd like your lashes done too, they can be booked in the same appointment.

Brow lamination or lash lift: how they compare

Brow lamination and a lash lift work on the same idea: lotions reshape your natural hair, and both last the same, 6 to 8 weeks.

You can have both on the same day to refresh your whole look: with the lash lift and brow lamination offer it is €79.90 instead of €99.80. If you're interested in the lash side, here we explain how long a lash lift lasts and how to look after it.

Signs your brow lamination has worn off

You'll know your lamination has worn off when, around week 7, your brows fall downwards again even after brushing. Other clear signs:

  • You see gaps the hair used to cover.
  • The tint has faded and your brows look thinner.
  • New hairs are growing outside the shape of the design.

That's the moment to book your next appointment, which you can request online and move free of charge with 16 hours' notice or more.

What people ask us

Can I get my brows wet after lamination?

Laminated brows shouldn't get wet for the first 24 hours, because the shape is still setting. After that day you can shower, wash your face and go swimming as normal. To make it last longer, pat your brows dry gently rather than rubbing with the towel.

Does brow lamination damage your brows?

Properly applied brow lamination doesn't damage the hair if the lotions stay on for the right time for its thickness and you keep to the 6 to 8 week gap. Hair dries out when the treatment is repeated too soon or when long processing times are used on fine hair.

When can I see the results of brow lamination?

You see the results of brow lamination as you leave the appointment: your brows are brushed, fuller and tinted. On the first day they can look very lifted; after 24 to 48 hours the hair relaxes slightly and looks more natural.

Can I wear brow make-up after lamination?

You can go back to brow make-up 24 hours after lamination. As the tint is included, you usually won't need it in the first few weeks. If you use a gel or pencil, take it off with a gentle make-up remover without harsh oils and without rubbing.

Can I have brow lamination if I have sensitive skin?

Brow lamination is possible on sensitive skin, but it's best to mention it when you book. Before applying the lotions we check whether the skin is irritated and protect the surrounding area. If you use retinol or acids around the brows, pause them for a few days beforehand.
