A lash lift lasts between 6 and 8 weeks, the time it takes your natural lashes to fall out and be replaced by new ones. What stretches or shortens it is your lash type, how the lift is applied and the first 24 hours. At Migami, in Andorra la Vella, the appointment takes 60 minutes.
- The effect lasts 6 to 8 weeks, set by the natural growth cycle of your lashes.
- Keeping water, steam and creams away from your lashes for the first 24 hours decides much of the result.
- The sensible gap is 6 to 8 weeks between lifts, never before the previous cycle has finished.
- The appointment takes 60 minutes and costs €49.90 in Andorra la Vella, tint and nourishing treatment included.

How long does a lash lift really last?
A well-done lash lift holds for 6 to 8 weeks. That figure comes from lash biology: each hair grows, rests and falls out in a cycle of roughly 60 to 90 days, and your eye has lashes at every stage at once.
The lift curls the lashes you have on the day of your appointment. The ones that grow afterwards come in straight, untreated. So the effect never disappears overnight: it fades gradually as the curled lashes shed and new ones take their place.
| When | What you notice |
|---|---|
| First 24-48 hours | A strong curl; the shape is still setting |
| Weeks 1 to 4 | Full effect: lifted, open lashes, darker if you had the tint |
| Weeks 5 and 6 | New straight lashes start showing between the curled ones |
| Weeks 7 and 8 | Few curled lashes left; a good time to book again |
Why some people's lift only lasts 2 or 3 weeks
When a lash lift drops after 2 or 3 weeks, one of these four causes is almost always behind it. None of them is bad luck.
- Wrong lotion timing. The first lotion softens the lash so it can be shaped; too little time and the curl will not set, too much and the hair weakens and loses its shape sooner.
- Wrong size silicone shield. The shield (a small curved pad the lashes rest on) has to match their length. One that is too big leaves a loose curl.
- Damaged lashes. If you are coming from badly removed extensions or lifts done too close together, the hair responds less well.
- Water or steam on day one. A very hot shower, sauna, swimming pool or crying in the first 24 hours loosens the set.
What makes a lash lift last up to 8 weeks
Three simple habits make the difference between a 5-week lift and an 8-week one. You can do all of them at home without buying anything expensive.
- Look after the first 24 hours. No wetting your lashes, no creams or make-up around the eye, no steam and, if you can, sleep on your back.
- Remove make-up without oils. Oils and balms loosen the curl with daily use. Micellar water or a water-based cleanser works better.
- Brush your lashes every morning. A clean mascara wand is enough to keep them pointing the right way and looking neat.
Well-hydrated lashes also hold the curl better. That is why our lash lift and tint at Migami finishes with a nourishing treatment.
What shortens a lash lift
A metal eyelash curler is the worst thing for a lash lift: it forces a lash that is already curled and can snap it. You do not need one either, because the curl is already there.
- Waterproof mascara, which you have to rub to take off.
- Rubbing your eyes hard or sleeping face down on the pillow.
- Frequent saunas, steam rooms and heavily chlorinated pools.
- Strip lashes glued on top of the lift.
None of these ruins it in a day. The effect builds up: repeat several of these habits and the curl relaxes sooner.

How often should you get a lash lift?
The sensible gap is every 6 to 8 weeks, once most of the curled lashes have renewed. Going sooner means putting lotion on hairs that still carry the previous treatment, and that dries them out.
A practical sign: when you look straight in the mirror and see more straight lashes than curled ones, it is time to book. If you wear extensions and want to switch to a lift, mention it when you book: after the extensions come off, it is best to let your natural lashes recover first.
How long does a lash lift appointment take?
A lash lift appointment at Migami takes 60 minutes, and you spend nearly all of it lying down with your eyes closed. This is how the hour goes:
- Design. We look at your eye shape and lash length to choose the silicone shield and the curl.
- Placement. We separate the lashes one by one and brush them upwards onto the shield.
- Lotions. First the softening lotion, then the setting one, each timed to your hair.
- Tint. It darkens the lash from the root so it looks longer without mascara.
- Nourishing treatment. A final step that leaves the lashes hydrated before you leave.
It does not hurt: the product goes on the hair, never in the eye, and many clients use the time to rest.
How much is a lash lift in Andorra
At Migami the Premium Lash Lift costs €49.90 and includes tint and a deep nourishing treatment. You pay once per appointment: there is no infill price for a lift, because it is never touched up mid-cycle.
If you book a lift and brow lamination at the same appointment, the promotion applies by itself: €79.90 instead of €99.80, in one 90-minute session. Brow lamination lasts as long as the lift, 6 to 8 weeks, so you can renew both together. All other rates are on our price list.
Lash lift or extensions: which lasts longer and which suits you
A lash lift lasts longer without going back to the salon; extensions give more length and density but need regular infills. This table compares what changes day to day:
| Lash lift | Eyelash extensions | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Curls and tints your own lashes | One or more fibres bonded to each lash |
| How long it lasts | 6 to 8 weeks with no touch-ups | Infills needed every 2-3 weeks |
| Appointment length | 60 minutes | 120 to 150 minutes depending on the look |
| Price | €49.90 | From €74.90 for the Natural 1D |
| Upkeep | None | Reduced infill price if you return within 18 days |
| Result | Natural, at your real length | More length and more density |
If you have never tried either, a lift is the easiest place to start: you see how an open look suits you and your lashes stay your own. We go into more detail in lash lift or eyelash extensions, and if you are leaning towards fibres, here is how long extensions last.
Are your lashes a good fit for a lift
Straight or downward-pointing lashes change the most with a lash lift. The effect shows more on medium or long lashes, and is subtler on short ones.
It is best to wait if you have an eye irritation or infection, have just had eye surgery or are wearing extensions. In those cases, tell us before you book and we will let you know when the time is right.
What people ask us
How long does a lash lift and tint last?
A lash lift and tint lasts as long as the curl, 6 to 8 weeks, although the colour can fade slightly sooner if you use strong make-up removers every day. Since the tint sits on the same lashes that are curled, both effects go when those lashes fall out.
Can you get a lash lift wet?
A lash lift should not get wet for the first 24 hours, because the shape is still setting. After that day you can shower, wash your face and swim as normal. What is worth avoiding for the whole cycle is rubbing your lashes when you dry them.
How many lash lifts can you have in a year?
A lash lift every 6 to 8 weeks works out at 6 to 8 sessions a year. Keeping to that gap lets your lashes renew between appointments. If your lashes feel dry or brittle, it is best to skip a cycle and let them rest.
Does a lash lift damage your lashes?
A properly applied lash lift does not damage your lashes, because the lotions stay on for exactly the right time for your hair thickness and the session ends with a nourishing treatment. Damage comes from over-processing or repeating the lift before 6 weeks.
Can I wear mascara after a lash lift?
Mascara can be worn after a lash lift once 24 hours have passed. A non-waterproof one is better, because it comes off without rubbing and the curl holds longer. Many people stop wearing it altogether because the tint already darkens their lashes.
