What anime lashes are
The anime effect groups extensions into points, called spikes, separated by areas of shorter lashes. The result recalls the eyes drawn in manga: large, open and with lines you can see one by one.
The spikes are usually 2 to 4 mm longer than the fill around them. Between each spike we place short, fine extensions of 0.05 to 0.07 mm that give a base without hiding the pattern. That contrast in lengths is what makes the eyes look bigger.

Wispy, foxy, cat eye and doll eye: which effect suits you
Each trend effect spreads the lengths differently, and that changes how your eye shape looks. Before we start, we look at your eyes and recommend one.

- Eye designWe study your eye shape and choose the effect, lengths and curl. We show you the spike map before we start.
- PreparationWe cleanse and degrease your lashes and protect the lower ones with a pad, while you lie back with your eyes closed.
- Building the spikesWe form each spike from several extensions and place it on a single isolated natural lash, never sticking lashes together.
- Fill and checkWe fill the gaps with short fibres, brush through and check symmetry in the mirror. About 150 minutes in total.

Anime or volume: the visible differences
Volume aims for a dense, even lash line; anime aims for a pattern, with clear spikes and gaps. Both techniques use fans of several fine extensions, but they place them with a different purpose.
- Density: volume fills the whole line; anime leaves short areas on purpose.
- Appointment length: about 120 minutes for volume, about 150 for anime.
- Upkeep: with anime you notice sooner when a spike falls, so it pays to come back on time.
- Style: volume looks glamorous; anime looks graphic and youthful.

How long the anime effect lasts and when to come back
Extensions fall out with your natural lashes, which renew every 4 to 8 weeks. That is why the spike pattern looks perfect for about 2 or 3 weeks, and then an infill is a good idea.

At home, keep your lashes dry for the first 24 hours, wash them daily with an oil-free cleanser and avoid mascara on the extensions. If you want to change style or give your lashes a break, we do lash removal without pulling on your natural lashes.

Do anime lashes damage your natural lashes?
Anime lashes do not damage your natural lashes when each spike has the right weight and every lash is isolated. We use fine fibres for the fill and match the spike length to the strength of your own lashes. The damage comes from pulling them off or letting them fall out with no upkeep.
How long does an anime lash appointment take?
An anime lash appointment takes about 150 minutes at Migami, including the design consultation. An infill within 18 days is shorter because we only replace the spikes and fill that have fallen out. You can book Monday to Saturday, from 8:00 to 18:00.
Can you get manga lashes with hooded eyes?
Manga lashes work on hooded eyes, but we change the curl and where the spikes go. With a heavier lid we usually lift the curl and move the longest spikes to the centre, or blend in a wispy effect so the crease does not hide them.
How often do anime lashes need an infill?
Anime lashes need an infill within 18 days of your last appointment, which costs €72.90. After that, the full price of €118.89 applies. It is best not to leave it longer, because with this style a missing spike shows straight away.
Do I need to bring a reference photo?
A reference photo helps, but you do not need one. If you bring one, we compare it with your eye shape and tell you what can be adapted. If not, we suggest a spike map during the consultation and adjust it with you before the first extension goes on.
