If you are torn between a lash lift vs eyelash extensions, the rule is simple: a lash lift curls and tints your natural lashes for 6 to 8 weeks with no upkeep, while extensions add length and fullness but need an infill every 2-3 weeks. At Migami in Andorra la Vella, a lash lift costs €49.90 and extensions start at €74.90.
- Lash lift: a 60-minute appointment, €49.90 with tint and nourishing treatment, lasts 6 to 8 weeks with no upkeep.
- Extensions: 120 to 150 minutes, from €74.90, with a cheaper infill if you come back within 18 days.
- A lash lift works with the lashes you have; extensions add lashes you do not have.
- With short or sparse lashes, extensions make a bigger change; with long, straight lashes, a lift is usually enough.

Which is better, a lash lift or extensions?
A lash lift wins if your lashes are already long and what they lack is curl and colour. Extensions win if your lashes are short, fine or sparse and you want visible volume. Neither is better in the abstract: each one solves a different problem.
A lash lift shapes your own lashes upwards with a set of lotions and then tints them. It adds nothing: if you have 100 lashes, you still have 100, only more open and darker. Extensions bond one or several synthetic fibres onto each natural lash, so they change length, thickness and density.
Lash lift and extensions compared in a table
These are the real figures from appointments at Migami, at Av. Meritxell 9.
| Aspect | Premium lash lift | Eyelash extensions |
|---|---|---|
| Price | €49.90 (tint and nourishing treatment included) | From €74.90 (Natural 1D) up to €118.89 (Anime) |
| Appointment length | 60 minutes | 120 minutes; 150 for the anime style |
| How long the effect lasts | 6 to 8 weeks | As long as your natural lash takes to shed; infill every 2-3 weeks |
| Upkeep | None: you repeat the full treatment | From €58.90 if you come back within 18 days |
| Look | Your own lashes, curled and darker | More length and density, from natural to very bold |
| Best for | Long or medium lashes, little time, a natural look | Short or sparse lashes, wanting a visible change |
There is also an Express extensions option at €39.90: a one-hour appointment that adds intensity without changing your whole look, with no infills.
What is the difference between a lash lift and extensions day to day?
The main difference is aftercare: a lash lift asks almost nothing of you after the first 24 hours, while extensions need a little attention every day.
- Lash lift: after the first day you can wash your face, swim and wear mascara. Just avoid rubbing when you dry your eyes.
- Extensions: no water for the first 24 hours, then brush them every morning, use an oil-free make-up remover and avoid sleeping face down on them.
- Make-up: with a lash lift the tint already darkens your lashes, so many people stop using mascara. With extensions mascara is unnecessary and damages the fibres too.
For the full routine, the guide on looking after your eyelash extensions takes you through it step by step.
Who a lash lift suits and who it does not
A lash lift suits you if your lashes have some length and grow straight or downwards. In one hour you get open lashes for 6 to 8 weeks.
- Yes: medium or long lashes, little time for appointments, regular sport or swimming, a taste for natural looks.
- Yes: if you want a break for a few weeks after wearing extensions.
- No: very short lashes, because there is little length to curl and the change will be small.
- No: if you are after density or a false-lash effect.
Everything included in the session is on the lash lift in Andorra page.
Book your lash lift at Av. Meritxell 9: 60 minutes, tint and nourishing treatment included, €49.90.
Who eyelash extensions suit and who they do not
Extensions make sense when what you are missing is quantity or length. They are the only way to go from few lashes to a full look without mascara.
- Yes: short, fine or patchy lashes.
- Yes: if you want to choose a style: classic Natural 1D (one extension per lash), 2D-3D volume, 5D Russian volume or the anime effect.
- No: if you cannot come back every 2-3 weeks, because as your natural lashes shed the extensions go with them and gaps appear.
- No: if you rub your eyes a lot or sleep with your face in the pillow; they will last less.
On the eyelash extensions page you can see each style with its price.
How much does each option cost over eight weeks?
Over eight weeks a lash lift costs €49.90, a single appointment. Extensions cost quite a bit more, because the infills add up on top of the first full set.
An example with Natural 1D: a first appointment at €74.90 and three infills at €58.90 (at 18 days, 36 and 54). Over eight weeks you pay for the first set plus three infills, against one lash lift appointment at €49.90. In return, you wear long, full lashes the whole time. You can see the rest of the rates on the Migami prices page.
Lashes and brows can be booked together in the same appointment.
Lash lift vs eyelash extensions: can you combine them?
A lash lift and extensions are not done at the same time on the same lashes. The lift uses lotions that soften the hair, and extensions need a clean, stable lash for the adhesive to grip properly.
What does work is alternating: wear extensions for a while, have them removed (€19.90, 30 minutes, without pulling your natural lashes) and switch to a lash lift to let them rest.
How we decide with you at Migami
Before we start we look closely at your lashes: length, thickness, the direction they grow in and whether there are gaps. With that we tell you honestly whether a lash lift will look good on you or whether extensions are worth more.
If you choose a lift, we test the shield size against your length so the curl stays open without bending too far. If you choose extensions, we map out the look and isolate each lash before applying the fibre, so they grow separately. You can book an appointment online, Monday to Saturday from 8:00 to 18:00.
What people ask us
Which is cheaper, a lash lift or eyelash extensions?
A lash lift is cheaper: €49.90 per appointment and it lasts 6 to 8 weeks with no upkeep. Eyelash extensions start at €74.90 and need an infill every 2 or 3 weeks, from €58.90 if you come back within 18 days. Lashes and brows can be booked together in the same appointment.
Does a lash lift damage your lashes?
A well-applied lash lift respects your lashes; the risk lies in leaving the lotions on longer than needed. With extensions the risk lies in using fibres that are too heavy or bonding several lashes together. Keeping to the timings and choosing the thickness to suit each lash avoids both problems.
Can I get a lash lift if I have extensions?
A lash lift can only be done once you are no longer wearing extensions. First they are removed with a product that dissolves the adhesive, without pulling, and then your lashes are ready. At Migami lash removal costs €19.90 and takes 30 minutes.
Which looks more natural, a lash lift or classic lashes?
A lash lift is as natural as it gets, because all you see is your own lashes curled and tinted. Classic lashes, our Natural 1D, also look discreet when the length and curl suit your eye, and they add some length that a lift cannot give.
