Which eyelash extensions are best for me? Your natural lashes decide. Strong lashes can take classic lashes; fine or sparse ones need ultra-light volume fans. At Migami in Andorra la Vella we assess your lashes before we start, and the appointment takes about 2 hours.
- Strong, dense lashes: Natural Effect 1D, one extension per lash, from €74.90.
- Fine or patchy lashes: 2D-3D volume or 5D Russian volume, with 0.05 to 0.07 mm fibres.
- Straight or downward lashes: a C or D curl lifts your gaze without adding weight.
- An extension shouldn't be much longer than your natural lash: 2-3 mm extra is already noticeable.

Which extensions can my natural lashes hold?
Your natural lash can carry as much weight as its thickness allows. A thick, long lash easily holds a 0.12-0.15 mm extension; a fine, short one needs 0.05-0.07 mm fibres grouped into fans (several fine extensions joined at the base). If you want to start from scratch, here is what eyelash extensions are and which types exist.
To find out what you have, look closely in natural light. If you see dark, firm, evenly spread lashes, your base is strong. If they are light, short or have gaps between them, it is a delicate base that needs lighter fibres.
- Strong and dense: almost any technique suits it.
- Fine: volume with ultra-light fibres that spread the weight.
- Sparse or patchy: fans to fill the lash line without loading each lash.
- Very short: subtle lengths of 8-10 mm so the root isn't strained.
Decision table: your lashes and the technique that suits them
This table sums up what we assess at your first appointment. Match your lash type with the result you want and you'll see where to start.
| Your lashes | Recommended technique | Guide thickness | Usual curl |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strong, long and dense | Natural Effect 1D (classic lashes) | 0.12-0.15 mm | B or C |
| Fine but good density | Volume Effect 2D / 3D | 0.07 mm | C |
| Fine and sparse | Russian Volume 5D | 0.05 mm | C or D |
| Straight or pointing down | Any, with a strong curl | Depends on the base | D or L |
| Healthy, and you want a bold look | Trends / Anime | 0.05-0.07 mm | C or D |
The curl is the shape of the extension: B is almost straight, C has a medium curve, and D and L lift the tip further. For the bold look in the last row, see the current eyelash trends.
Which technique works best for your eye shape?
Your eye shape decides where the longest lengths go, which is what we call lash mapping. The same technique looks very different depending on how the lengths are placed.
- Round eyes: longer lengths towards the outer corner (cat eye) to elongate your gaze.
- Small or deep-set eyes: longer lengths in the centre (doll eye) so they look more open.
- Hooded eyelids: D or L curls, which show above the skin of the lid.
- Almond eyes: suit almost any map; it comes down to style.
If you'd like this step in more detail, our guide to personalised lash mapping shows how the design is drawn before the first extension goes on.
Classic, volume or Russian volume: the differences
The difference lies in how many extensions go on each of your lashes. Classic lashes use one; 2D-3D volume, a fan of 2 or 3; 5D Russian volume, up to 5 ultra-light fibres.
| Technique | Result | Price | Infill |
|---|---|---|---|
| Natural Effect 1D | Your own lash, longer and more defined | €74.90 | €58.90 |
| Volume Effect 2D / 3D | More density, still natural | €84.90 | €62.90 |
| Russian Volume 5D | Maximum density | €98.90 | €68.90 |
| Trends / Anime | Defined spikes, a character-style look | €118.89 | €72.90 |
The first three are done in an appointment of about 2 hours; the anime design takes about 150 minutes. To see each technique on its own, our page on eyelash extensions in Andorra explains them one by one.
Come to Migami in Andorra la Vella and we'll choose together the extensions your lashes can hold and your eyes call for.
Which is best if it's your first time?
For a first time, the sensible choice is a natural set or light volume. That way you see how your eyes react to the adhesive and how the weight feels before moving up in density.
At the appointment we also check the growth phase of your lashes: those about to shed and very short new ones are left untouched. If you're unsure who should carry out this assessment, here is the training and judgement a good lash tech should have.
Your lifestyle counts too
Your routine decides how much upkeep is worth it for you. If you swim or train every day, your lashes renew just as quickly, and with classic lashes or light volume each extension that falls is less noticeable.
- Little time in the morning: 2D-3D volume; it saves you mascara and curlers.
- Work or formal events: Natural Effect 1D, discreet up close.
- You like to stand out: Russian volume or the anime design.
- You want to try without commitment: Express Lashes, one hour and €39.90.
If you'd rather not wear extensions, a lash lift curls and tints your natural lashes for 6-8 weeks.
How often to come back and what it costs
Extensions fall out with your natural lashes, which renew in cycles of 4 to 8 weeks. That's why an infill every 2-3 weeks is recommended to fill the gaps.
At Migami, if you come back within 18 days of your last appointment for the same service, you pay the infill rate. If you want lashes and brows on the same day, you can book them together in the same appointment. You'll find every rate on the Migami price list.
How we choose your extensions at Migami
Before anything is applied, Denia Lemus or a team member trained in her method checks your lashes, your eye shape and what you're after. From there we decide technique, thickness, curl and length map.
- We look closely at your natural lashes: thickness, density and direction.
- We ask about your routine and the effect you want.
- We draw the length map on the eye pads.
- We isolate each lash and apply the chosen extension.
You'll find us at Av. Meritxell 9, Casa Felipó, 3rd floor, door 7, Monday to Saturday from 8:00 to 18:00. Once you've decided, book your appointment online.
What people ask us
What type of eyelash extensions are best for thin lashes?
For thin lashes, the best eyelash extensions are volume sets made with ultra-light fibres of 0.05 to 0.07 mm. Grouping 2 to 5 fibres into a fan spreads the weight, so the natural lash isn't strained. Classic lashes with thick fibres, by contrast, can weaken a fine base over time.
Is classic or volume better?
Classic lashes are better if your lashes are strong and you want a natural result. Volume is better if your lashes are fine or sparse, or if you want more density. At Migami the Natural Effect 1D costs €74.90 and the Volume Effect 2D / 3D costs €84.90.
Which lash curl should I choose for straight lashes?
For straight or downward-pointing lashes, the most suitable curl is usually D or L. These curls lift the tip and open up your gaze even when the base is straight. A B curl, which is almost flat, would barely show and make the eye look smaller.
What extension length is safe for my lashes?
A safe extension length is one that exceeds your natural lash by just a few millimetres, usually 2 to 3 mm. A much longer extension levers the root and can make the lash fall out early. That's why the length is chosen by measuring your lash at the appointment.
Do volume lash extensions damage your lashes?
Well-applied volume lash extensions don't damage your lashes, because each fan is attached to a single natural lash and weighs very little. Damage happens when several lashes are stuck together, fibres are too thick, or extensions are pulled off at home instead of being removed with product.
