Anime lash extensions group fibres into long, separate spikes with shorter lashes in between, to copy the hand-drawn eyes of manga. They are applied lash by lash onto your natural lashes in about 2.5 hours, last 4 to 6 weeks with infills and open up your eyes without weighing them down.
- Spikes that are longer than the short fill around them.
- The full appointment takes about 150 minutes, design included.
- With an infill every 2-3 weeks the look stays complete.
- Especially flattering on almond, downturned or hooded eyes.
- At Migami it costs €118.89 and an infill €72.90.

What are anime lashes?
Anime lashes are extensions placed in clusters that form well-defined spikes, with gaps of shorter lashes between them. The look copies the way eyes are drawn in Japanese manga, where each lash is a thick, separate line.
You will also see them called manga lashes or spiky lashes. They are the same style under different names. What sets them apart from classic volume is contrast: a few long spikes stand out over a short, light base, instead of a dense, even line from corner to corner.
How anime lash extensions are done
The spikes are built by joining several extensions into a single closed strand that is bonded to one natural lash. Each looks like a long, fine brush stroke. Between the spikes go short, very fine extensions, 0.05 to 0.07 mm thick, which fill in without hiding the pattern.
The technique combines two layers:
- Base layer: light fans or classic lashes, which add density and darken the root.
- Spike layer: the spikes themselves, with their number and length chosen for your eye.
- Finish: each spike is separated with tweezers so they don't stick together.
Every extension goes on a single natural lash, isolated from its neighbours. That way your lash follows its own cycle and falls out when it is ready, without pulling the others with it.
Mapping: where each spike goes
Mapping is the length plan drawn before starting: it shows which length goes on each part of the eye and where the spikes sit. It is marked on the pads that protect the lower lashes, section by section, from inner to outer corner.
Where the spikes go changes the result. Longer spikes in the centre make the eye rounder; longer towards the outside lengthen and lift it. Placed without a map, the eye can look droopy or small.
At Migami we spend the first minutes of the appointment on this design: we look at your eye, decide with you how many spikes you want and choose the curl. The curl is the shape of the extension: C is open and natural, D lifts more and L suits hooded eyes.
Who suits anime-style lashes?
Anime-style lashes suit almost every eye, because the mapping adapts to each shape. They work especially well in these cases:
- Almond eyes: spikes in the centre make them rounder and bigger.
- Downturned eyes: longer spikes on the outer half lift the outer corner.
- Hooded eyelids: with an L curl the spikes show above the crease.
- Sparse natural lashes: the short base hides gaps and the spikes add presence.
If your natural lashes are very fine or weak, it is best to start with shorter spikes. We check this at the appointment before applying anything.
We design your spikes to suit your eye shape at Av. Meritxell 9, Andorra la Vella.
How long do manga lashes last?
Manga lashes last 4 to 6 weeks, the same as any extensions, because they fall out with your natural lashes. Each lash renews on its own in a 4 to 8 week cycle, so you lose a few every day.
With the anime style, shedding shows sooner: if you lose a spike, the gap is more visible than with even volume. That is why we recommend an infill every 2 or 3 weeks. At Migami, if you come back within 18 days of your last appointment, you pay the infill rate; all our rates are on the price list.
Anime, wispy and doll eye compared
All three styles use mixed lengths, but they place the spikes differently and change the shape of the eye in different ways.
| Style | What the spikes are like | Effect on the eye |
|---|---|---|
| Anime / manga | Tightly closed, separate spikes over a short base | A drawn look, big and defined |
| Wispy | Softer spikes blended with volume | Textured, natural and slightly tousled |
| Doll eye | Longest lashes in the centre of the eye | Round, open eye, like a doll |
Anime is the most graphic of the three. If you want something subtler, wispy softens the spikes, and if you want even density with no pattern, Russian volume is a better fit. Wet look and colour, among others, feature in the current lash extension trends.
Aftercare to keep the spikes closed
The spikes stay closed if you wash and brush them every day. Skin oil and make-up pull them apart, and an open spike loses the anime effect.
- Keep them dry for the first 24 hours, while the adhesive finishes curing.
- Wash them daily with a lash extension cleanser and lukewarm water.
- Pat them dry with tissue and brush them with a clean spoolie, from root to tip.
- Avoid oils and two-phase make-up removers around the eyes.
- Sleep on your back or side, without pressing your face into the pillow.

What people ask us
Do anime lashes damage your natural lashes?
Anime lashes do not damage your natural lashes if each spike goes on a single lash and the weight matches its thickness. Damage happens when several lashes are stuck together or the spikes are too heavy for a fine lash. That is why we assess your lashes before deciding how long the spikes should be.
How much do anime lashes cost in Andorra?
Anime lashes cost €118.89 at Migami in Andorra la Vella, and an infill €72.90 if you come back within 18 days. If you also want your brows done, they can be booked in the same appointment. The full appointment takes about 150 minutes.
Can I get anime lashes if I have sparse lashes?
You can get anime lashes with sparse natural lashes, and they often look better than dense volume. The short base fills the gaps and the spikes add presence without weighing them down. If your lashes are very fine, we start with shorter, lighter spikes so as not to strain them.
Can I wear make-up with manga lash extensions?
With manga lash extensions you can wear eyeshadow and make-up on the rest of your face, but you don't need mascara. Mascara clumps the spikes and means rubbing to remove it. Use powder eyeshadows and an oil-free make-up remover, applied gently without tugging the extensions.
